Refurbishment of a traditional Victorian terraced house, in the heart of Landsdowne Gardens Conservation Area.

_ingARCHITECTS were appointed to reimagine this neglected, four-storey terraced house in Stockwell, South London. Sub-divided rooms created dark, cramped and unusable spaces, which restricted flow and practicality. The brief was to open up each each, re-focusing the attention to the large windows to both front and rear of the property and utilising each floor in both functionality and aesthetic. The creation of a floor to ceiling crittall style glass partition to the entrance hallway helped connect the formal reception room to the core of the house, whilst enhancing the sunlight from the rear facing window.
Reconfiguration of the entire first floor to make a large principal suite with walk-through dressing room into ensuite created a luxury, private space for the occupants to unwind in with views directly into the trees.
